TRIP UPDATEAll New York band trip participants need to meet at the airport at 8:30 am on Saturday. We will have e-tickets and enter as a group. Please do not be late. Our travel agent will see each participant through the gate. More information will be available at Tuesday’s band parent meeting. Rain is in the forecast for NYC while we are there. Consider taking an umbrella as we will be walking A LOT.

REQUIRED NEW YORK TRIP MEETING A required meeting
for students who missed last week’s spring trip meeting will be held at 4:15 in the small band hall.

GENERAL BAND PARENT MEETINGWe have a very important parent meeting to discuss “Sample the Sound” fundraiser, band trip and contest on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 pm. Please make plans to attend.

SCRIPSScrips orders will be due at the booster meeting on Tuesday night. It is not too early to begin earning money for next year’s band fees or our in-state spring trip band trip 2011.
Future Brennan students will be able to transfer their funds to bear country next year.

FULL ORCHESTRA UIL CONTESTThe orchestra UIL concert and sightreading contest will be held at John Jay on Wednesday. Students involved in this event have the itinerary. Our final rehearsal will be Wednesday, morning at 7:30 am. Please do not be late.

SOLO AND ENSEMBLE THURSDAYOur UIL and non-UIL solo and ensemble contest start at 5:00 pm on Thursday. All students should be ready to perform 30 minutes prior to their assigned times. The performance schedule will be posted on Tuesday, March 9.

SOLO AND ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE ETIQUETTEAll solo participants are required to dress in a professional manner for this event. No jeans or t-shirts are allowed. An etiquette grade will be assigned. Students who do not have “dress” clothes must make prior arrangements with a band director to check out a tux or dress.

BAND FEES FINAL INSTALLMENT PAST DUEMemo: 5792.03 & Student ID #

HOT CHECKSPlease do not write HOT CHECKS to the Stevens Band Program! In a new school policy, the organization that deposits a hot check will incur all extra costs associated with that bad check with no chance to recover the loss.

SMS Sign-UpIf you have unlimited text, you should consider signing up for the SMS service provided through the band website. Several parents and students have already signed up. This service is not linked to the NISD Twitter account and will be used only for band, band council and Texas Future Music Educators activities. You can find the information under the “Home” tab on www.falconspride.org
